Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you can make some time to visit Park Avenue Mansion Bed & Breakfast and experience its magic as we did the first time we stepped foot inside.

Take a Tour Around the Neighborhood

It was Springtime, 1997 when we came upon this beautiful old mansion. It needed a lot of work, but from the first moment we felt its warmth, we knew this was where we wanted to be. We felt it needed us — and how we wanted it!

We began renovations immediately. There was so much to do! First, a new roof, then new plumbing, electrical, tuck-pointing, painting.... repairs and repairs, and it seemed never ending! It didn't take long to realize that this wonderful piece of real estate could be a fabulous Bed and Breakfast. With help of friends, family, and neighbors, Mike did most of the work on the house up to present day. We reinstated the original 12 foot outside doors and built the two inside French doors from old doors to match the period. Then the massive crown moldings throughout the house had to be made and installed, and Mike refinished the floors on the first floor to their original glory. He learned plumbing from scratch from experts, and today, there's not much plumbing he can't do. I took charge of the rest of the details and the gardens. Again, friends and family helped with the laborious chores needed to complete the work.

We wanted to create a welcoming place of tranquility for our guests, and provide them with the comforts of home and lots more. We brought our special interests inside and began to incorporate what we love into the Inn's personality — nature, flowers, good food, wine, lots of books, and, of course, Garbo and G2, our gentle rescue dogs, and Irving and Bebe, our wonderful parrots.

Today, Park Avenue Mansion is what we envisioned it to be from that first moment. We love what we do here, especially making guests feel special and cultivating new friendships. In the past 10 years, we have had the pleasure of hosting many weddings and commitment ceremonies, along with numerous showers, anniversary and birthday celebrations. We thank our guests for the opportunity to be a part of their special memory, made here at Park Avenue Mansion. We invite you to join us, be our guest and stay awhile — come and let us spoil you.

We love our neighborhood and community. We feel blessed to be here. We hope that you will love it here, too.

Thank you for choosing us,
Kathy & Mike Petetit
